The images I capture are much more than merely clicks at whatever I am faced with. Through my work, I aim to capture unique and meaningful images which will stand as records and expressions of moments I believe to be relevant to the goals that motivate me to get out in the field.
Among the references within the audiovisual world, photography, I believe, provides a unique form of inspiration. I draw mine from the works of the Americans Steve McCurry and Ansel Adams, and in documentary cinema such as the German Werner Herzog.
Locally in Brazil, I draw inspiration from the filmmakers João Jardim and Walter Carvalho from the film 'Windows of the Soul', which eternalizes how the visually impaired see the world in their own unique way.
Exhibitions of my personal works have been held in cultural centers and museums across a wide spread of countries including Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, and the United States. I have also received a National Geographic award with an exhibition at Jardin des Plantes (Paris, 2011). My works portray a journey throughout several continents, largely in missions defending forests, indigenous causes, and the ocean.
